Dropped the buckets I got out of that El Camino last year of at Fred's to get redone. I took a bunch of before photos and will take some after as well.

Mike, what condition are the headrests in? Those seem to be hard to refurbish.

Fred can make covers for the head rests that look pretty good. He can replace the foam too, if necessary.

I've used the recovers for the headrests before, and just wasn't happy with how the corners puckered. It's just not the same as the original vacuum formed plastic around the foam.
I'm sure Fred can do a better job with the recover material than I did though.

They were actually really nice. Fred didn't think they would need to be recovered. One little split to deal with and one other minor issue on the bottom of one of them.

That's good Mike. I think they are made in the aftermarket now for $165 or so.
Probably too late now... but if I redid mine, I would use these new ones from TMI Products that use the stock seat frame/springs and have bolstered foam more like a sport seat, but not as much as the Pro Car seats. So, it would be a stock look, with improved comfort and support. Here's the info:
Interesting. It makes the seats look very similar to the buckets that were in my 2000 Grand Prix. It was too late for me so it spared me from a tough decision.

Looking forward to seeing them Mike. That means one step to getting the Chevelle back on the road!
Glad you posted this as now I remember the sport seat upholstery I posted, which is what I'm going to do the vert this winter. After I decide if white or black, white or black, white or black...

I don't want to derail Mike's post, so all I will say is still on the fence, but white is in the lead.
