12 rooms have been blocked off at the Canal Park Lodge in Duluth. Reservations can start being made as of Jan. 21. The rooms are saved under the Northstar Chevelle Club. If the rooms have not been reserved by Sept. 6th they will no longer be held.
Any idea on rates Chad? I couldnt find it on thier website.

I went to the reservation link, but it won't let you make a reservation that far ahead. (not online anyway) So I went back to Sept. 9/29 no rooms available, 9/22 no rooms available, 9/15 was open and the cheapest one was 206.96 for one night.

You have to actually call as there is a block of rooms reserved under the Northstar Chevelle Club. (online will not have that info.) Rooms willl not be available until 1-21 to start making reservations.

That sounds very cool for sure. One of the photo shoots I did with my new Chevelle was all over Duluth and Superior, it was fun and of course I stopped at A&W in Superior. I also have a small home 50 miles north of Duluth in Silver Bay to keep in mind. It is small but it will sleep between 8 and 11 people.
Here is a link to the cameras I have in the house:
The block is set up and is ready to make reservations for October 6, 2012
You can make reservations by calling 1-800-777-8560 and ask for the North Star Chevelle Club block.
I have 4 rooms with a king bed on the city side: $239.00 per night
I have 3 rooms with two queen beds on the city side: $239.00 per night
I have 3 rooms with two queen beds on the lakeside: $269.00 per night
I have 3 rooms with a King bed on the lakeside for $269.00 per night
All rooms that have not been picked up will be released on September 6, 2012.
This is quite a bit more expensive than their usual rates. If we stay two nights the rates drop to about $179.00 a night. Do we leave it as is or is anyone interested in going up on Friday during the day? I am not really for driving at night with our cars as we lose the cruising experience and we might be deer magnets!

That was one of my first comments when we were at Johns exchanging info for this years core of officers when this trip came up. As one that already had a classic car stolen. I dont trust any parking lot outside of a car show anymore or some kind of club atmosphere. Secure or not. Been gun shy with that sort of thing almost 10 years now since that happened to me. Plus the reports that come in about once a week about someone getting thier muscle car stolen on TC.

The security will be however many owners & guests that participate, lightly sleeping 100' away, slightly paranoid, and waiting to at the smallest sound.
The risk is no different than driving or parking anywhere else... you can get a jeans rivet/beltbuckle/zipper scratch at Anoka and not know it until a week later. I built my car to drive & enjoy, stone chips & all.
(Anyone with cahone's large enough to mess with a GROUP of classic cars at a hotel isn't going to be able to run very fast anyway.)

One thing we could do is take turns "patrolling" the lot. My dad attends a national Ford Crown Vic show every year at different locations around the country and that is what they do. Someone is always circling the lot all night long and they have never had a problem.

I figured we'd all pull the coil wire or disconnect the power to the disty, that would make enough racket if they tried to start it!
I've stayed at hotels overnight with a Chevelle, and never had a problem. This was on cruises with other collector cars, so there were others in the lot.
This is why I have good insurance. I can understand if someone has a car they've had a long time or have an attachment to and don't want to lose it, but for me if it happened it would just be another reason for me to change Chevelles again as I have plenty of coverage!

The great thing about having a wagon is that no one would steal it when there are a slew of pretty coupes and ragtops around. It's that 'run faster than a bear' theory...
I don't have to outsmart thieves; there just has to be one car more desirable than mine around... LOL!!
Anyway- this sounds like a fun deal and the wife and I have never been up there. I'll twist her arm and see what happens.

It was in the pdf attachment on the club calendar on Oct. 6th, but that link doesn't seem to be working now. John D. can you look into that?
Otherwise, I think the meet up time was 8 or 8:30 a.m. at Lock and Dam #4 in Hastings. Same place as the 1st Fall cruise meetup location last year.
There will be a slight deviation from the directions around the Stillwater lift bridge, as it is currently closed. Chad is figuring out the change now.

Mike, yeah we are probably a week too late this year going up. Tina and I usually try to go up the very first weekend in Oct., but this year it's a week into the month, and with the draught and conditions, the leaves dropped earlier.
Bayfield's Applefest is this weekend though, and it's a potential idea for the weekend plans, so we'll see.
Otherwise, I'm sure we'll make the best of it and have fun no matter if the leaves are on the trees or the ground!
