I guess we can now say good by to Ed's Twin City Rod and Custom. Not much in muscle car era stuff but he was a pretty good local source for hot rod parts. His store was REALLLY HANDY to have around if you were looking for a custom type part and wanted to see the parts before hand. He primarily catered to the street rod crowd but carried a lot of performance stuff too. Still hurts to see yet another hot rod shop go.
With them gone...And I may be wrong about this. But I believe that leaves CA Performance the only game left in town.
There is TNT in Blaine and Dukes race shop in Elk river.

Being so far away, I always forgot about TC Rod and Custom. That's too bad.
Aside from the ones listed, what other speed shop type places have been around over the years? I know MAS that's an easy one. There was Valley Oil in Shakopee but I don't think they are in it anymore. Champion Auto in Burnsville was pretty well stocked too.
What else?

I didn't even know about Ed until last winter. I bought some Lokar parts for the Chevelle from him. I saw he was retiring in the Line Chaser a couple months ago. I am bidding on some stuff at Auction Masters right now. I couldn't believe how much stock he must have had in back rooms, because the front sales room didn't seem very big. If I didn't already have my winter restoration job lined up, I would've approached him to run it and keep it going. I had heard he wanted to retire but I thought he had a son that was goign to step in. Guess that didn't happen.

I stopped in there on Tuesday @ lunch. Ed was there and we chatted a bit. He's officially closed for retail/walk-ins (everything's inventoried for auction). He's joining his wife in retirement. There were 10 or 12 parties interested in the business, but couldn't come up with the $$. Like the name says, it's about 90% street-rod or fabricator stuff, but there is a LOT of "stuff" in there!!
