Ran into this article when researching vinyl top information on TC. Its for a GTO; but should be the same for the 66-67 chevelle and also would contain information for all vinyl top installations.

Jim, maybe talk to Chad for some tips as he put the vinyl top on his '72 by himself (with some help from the family I think). It looks great and I thought it had been done professionally.

I think the installation in this case is the cheaper part of the job. The top itself is the expensive part. The company you bought your top from Jim has a reputation of being the very best so now is the best time to order since the cars sits all winter anyways. I hear they are well worth the wait.
