This is for a 66-69 chevelle BB that has not had the safety motor mounts installed. I think it was installed in all the Chevelle BB as a recall after the failure of the motor mounts in the early BB Chevys. Thanks, Jim

I found an unopened one for the 67-72era trucks at Back to the '50s 2 summers ago. paid $5 for it. These float around here and there. If you really need it for the resto, it's probably worth it, btu if you're willing to wait, more will come up.

I have seen a few for SB and Trucks for less than $50; but not very many for a 66 BB. While searing on the net I found one other kit sold for $200.

While watching the auction I found another NOS kit for $75 shipped, so I bought that Kit. Hope everthing is in the kit.

Jim would you be able to send me a copy of the recall letter? Or possible scan it and send it to my email.
Thanks.

I just pulled it out and have not seen it for 10-15 yrs. I will show you what I have next time you around at meeting. But I was mistaken. I just read the letter and it is on recall of a sealing plug near the tailpipe, but I remeber the converstation with the original owner over these straps. I brought it up the starps when looking over the car. I never seen the straps before in my life and we were talking about it and they gave me the letter and then they were telling me they were put on at the dealer on a recall. So who knows now reading the letter. I never seen them before never gave it a thought. Years later my brother in law seen them while he was visiting and he knew what they were. He told me most people took them off or they rusted off. Did these come ont he car from the factory or recall. Did they take the car in for a different recall in 69 and the dealer put these on too. now I want to know how they made it on to a 67 Impala SS 327
It has a "Campaign Card" and code 9007 & Bulletin No. 69-C-7, envelope and letter of recall sealing plug near the tailpipe. The campaign card is blank maybe I can take the 67 in to the chevy dealer and see if all the work was done : ) demand they fix it : ) If you still interested I can try to scan it at work. The letter was sent Certified and has a Post dated Apr 8 69 what is weird is there is a stamp of Mar 10 1967 on the same envolope. Did it take Chevrolet 2 years to mail it ?

From what I have been told, the engine mounts for the 65-67 BB and SB were of the non-saftey style. As a result the rubber would separate from the steel when too much tourque, resulting in the engine lifting and the throttle sticking open. So GM developed this as a quick fix. Then they developed a replacment safety style engine mount some time in 68. Here is a original non-saftey mount; but it is for a SB the BB is a little different. This is for a chevelle, the only difference in the corvette mount is that it did not have the nut welded on and could be used on either side.
It the BB mount that is listed as correct. Still can't figure out how to underlind these.

Here is an original service replacement with the safety feature. see which cars it is listed for. I think these cars are they ones that came from the factory with the non-saftey mount. So the cable was a quick fix before these engine mount came on the scene.
