Jim (bowtieman427) and I made a run down to Cedar Falls Raceway yesterday. Very nice track with a lot more track prep than Rock Falls. It's a long hall for you guys in the cities, but it would be a fun club event some time. My previous best at Rock Falls was 13.411 at 109.8, yesterday, Jim loaned me a set of drag radials and my best impoved to 12.131 at 111.69.

What were your 60's? Is there an 11 in it with more tuning or traction, or is that about it for the combo?

Cedar Falls (CF) was great. They had the 10.5 class and motor cycles running. The 10.5 class and bikes were wicked fast they were runnig 1/8 miles at 5.5s or less. There were some cars running 8.5s 1/4s and bikes running low 9s. It is a lot more reasonable then Rock Falls (RF). CF is $20 test and tune RF is $69, but CF is 50 miles further yet well worth the extra miles for Test and tune. I think RF is a good deal for the Muscle Car race and CF is better for everything else.
There were people from the cities, IL and some IA. I met many people from MN there as a matter of fact there were more people from MN then anywhere else. The people I met form IL there he told me it is a 4 hr drive to the track but it is a the best around. Track is a lot better and they really work hard making the luanch area & track nice.
My 60ft times were .1-.15 better but my traps were 1-2MPH less then Rock Falls. It was quite a bit warmer out yeasterday about 80-85f compare to 55-65f at the Rock where I managed a 10.99 @125.11. Still slipping a little on launch so there is a lot of suspension traction tunning and probably tunning needed to get it to go quicker. My frist two runs were in OD (somehow must of pushed the button and did not even know it which was funny it was like driving a Power gluid was not shifting into 3 til the end of the 1/4 still went 11.3x. I think my tranny did not like as it has a leak now : ( next 6 run Times were 11.22-11.12s @ about 123.xx MPH. Steve's car was very consistant he was around 12.1-12.2. It was getting better when he got the lap top out and changed his rev limit. Only seen him go twice and it looked like he had real good tracktion and one time he got paired up with a Nova running about the same with him so it was a real race. Steve had good reaction time too (wish I had that). I think he taking off at a dead idle. Maybe if he was able to bring his RPM up a little at start it would go faster. 12.1 is pretty fast I do not think there are many street cars out there that go that fast.
All in all had a great time with Steve and Mona and look forward to going with them again next year. JJ loved it there. I will probably have the wheels next year for him to borrow (At the track it is NO fun having no traction). I would like to try compare the BFG vs M/T street radial drag tires on my car as I think the BFG are a little softer. I hope to go to one of the Midnight Mania events next year. It is Street car ONLY with mufflers and street tires. They do not use the tree either Instant Green or flag. This is a street racing event at the strip. The only problem is it is at 9P-1AM at night. Form what I hear it is a lot of fun. One can race all day st
You could race race all day long if you wanted to do a Sat test and tune starting at 2P - 7:30P have a break do a cook out then start up again for Mid night Mania at 9P-1A.

My 60's averaged 1.83, I still had a little wheel spin, but not much. I had my lap top & HPtuners hooked up and data recorded 5 runs in a row. I haven't had a chance to compare it too much, but I did see for my fastest run my 1-2 shift was at 6830, and my 2-3 was at 6652, it also showed my throttle was only at 90% until 5 seconds into the run and it was my worst 60' time, so if I hit everything a little better, I could maybe see 11's. My tune is pretty conservative, if you leaned it out there would be more power, but I don't want to risk it. A set of drag radials to throw on at the track is on the Christmas list.
225 miles is a long way Tony. I'm about 91 to Rock Falls and 107 to Cedar Falls.
Funny thing on Sunday, I had the car sitting outside and still had my car number on the windshield (4985). A guy stopped interested in the car I had out front for sale.
