After seeing Steve S post about something, he heard someone say at a car show it made me think of some of the crazy things that I have heard at shows.
Here is one. Two guys standing next to my Elky in Hastings, one guy says to the other “to bad GM never put big blocks in El Caminos”
Lets hear yours, we can have the car show quote of the year.

pointing at the hand crank on the front of my parents' Model T... "How far can you go before you have to stop and wind it up again?"
...must have thought it was powered by a big rubber-band. :D

At Stewartville car show next to my car. That should be in the modified class, he has chrome valve covers, not stock for a 66 chevelle SS.

Stopped taking my 68 Vette to car shows which is pretty much original. Everyone would come up and say "They never made a 68 Corvette 427 3x2 with an automatic transmission" You do not know how many people told me that telling me it is not orginal. Got to a point where I had to take the Vette black book with me to car a show and show people it is original and Yes Chevy made a few of them not very many at all. One time I did have the pleasure of meeting someone that thanked me for bringing it to the car show as he said he never seen one in real life and that felt pretty good.

Intresting. We have another club member that has a 69 427 vette as well. You guys make me jealous now.
Back on point. The only thing I ever really heard with my 66 is that a few people called it a GTO at times.

I am sure you have all heard someone say something like this" my buddy has a numbers matching 1968 Chevelle, all original with a 454, 450hp", which we know the 454 wasn't introduced until 1970?

Kind of like the guy at the Farmington show this August. Had a 65 Impala, which had a 427 with badges last year, claimed it was all original. This year the badges were changed to a 396; but this the same 427 engine. Entered in the stock class.
