I received an IM on another forum (G-body) I used to frequent when I had my Olds. The guy saw my old Cutlass at the Leicester drag strip just south of Rochester NY. He said the guy who bought it was really passionate about the car and was of the opinion that he'd take care of it for years to come which was nice to hear. He also mentioned that it was running in the 13's. I never got a chance to take it to the track myself. I'm glad that the new owner is enjoying it.

Sounds like it was a win win situation for both the owner and the seller.

Michael, that's cool that somebody with a passion for that type of Cutlass bought your car. He was certainly dedicated flying here from New York and driving it back!
I'm not surprised it ran 13's with the way it sounded when I heard you drive it.

It was one of those things where he had a 78 Cutlass Calais in high school and wanted one again. The Calais' aren't very common so it took him some time and distance to find one. He got a great deal since the cars of that era don't hold the same values as the older ones. I doubt he modified the car any since he bought it. He has multiple younger children and had worked a bunch of OT for 6 motnhs to save up the money to buy it.
