Step 2 = build the entire friggin' car around them!!
Spent most of the afternoon, and up until about 45 mins ago putting new air shocks on the "Green Mary".
I really want to find the accountant and/or engineer that decided not to use trap-nuts on the upper shock mounts, and thought 5/16" bolts with 10mm heads was a good idea... then to use a 1/2" nut on the in-accessible backside of the upper frame mount. (well, I suppose 13mm is the same as 1/2")
Wound up lighting up the gas-axe and using the air chisel... twice! Gotta luv rust country.

I've been cussing those upper nuts on GM cars for neigh on 40 years. You'd think after all that time, SOMEBODY could've figured out a better method.
When I built the frame up for my GTO, I WELDED the nuts on before I painted it....
Step 1 = hang the 2 rear shock absorbers on a jig
Step 2 = build the entire friggin' car around them!!
