Got home this afternoon after a 10+ day vacation (? ) from the reality of daily life...
7/2 - Drive to cabin (Backus MN)
7/3 thru 7/5 am - at the relaxing, "zen-ish" lake home....
(Oh yeah, relaxing... lessee - waterseal/Thompson 500+ sq.ft. of decks & walkways... build 2 new stair treads down to the dock... pull the boat and check "funny noise" from lower unit... re-screen window in Gazebo (little friggin' chipmunks followed someone in for peanuts, and chewed their way out)... re-align Satelite Dish for neighbor lady... Thank the Almighty for beer... anyone contemplating a "Lake Cabin" talk to me before buying...)
7/5 late am - drive back to Mpls, do laundry, check the car, prep for Illinois trip.
7/6 am - drive to Gurnee IL., check into motel #1
7/7 - all day - Six Flags "Great America" (Totally KICK-AZZ!! Major roller-coaster junkie heaven!!)
7/8 - Check out of motel #1, shift 20 miles and arrive at motel #2, meet with (my side) relatives for late am/brunch - leave/drive then visit with different relatives (my side) for afternoon, then dinner/evening at Medieval Times (again TOTAL KICK AZZ )
7/9 - Check out of motel #2, drive to downtown Chi-Town and spend the day at the Shedd Aquarium. Hit the road in the late afternoon for Gilman IL, and check into motel #3.
7/10 - Attend Mass, then the Deitz family Reunion at a different Church basement for the day. Go see "Cars 2" at the only theater in the COUNTY - (a 1-screen holdout from the 40's... rolled the National Anthem, and had a 10-minute intermission between reels!)
7/11 - Check out of motel #3 and drive 500+ miles back home.
Got home and fell right back into "reality"... Total . Everyone checking "email" and "connecting"... at least I held out for 6+ hours before getting on here.
Back to work at 7 bells tomorrow.

I had gone up to Danbury for a relaxing July 4th weekend. I spent Fri night Sat and Sun. with chainsaws cutting trees. John when you and others say it is nice to go back to work to relax I understand.

We used to have land just East of Danbury in Webb Lake (Northern area of Voyager Village)l this spring. Now I have a new bathroom, my 2010 Impala is paid off, and some paid for vacation coming up in the winter.

You vacation like we do. Something different going on every day....
My son was at Medieval Times in April and thought it was really fun too. Shedd Aquarium is interesting too.
