call "Dennys Driveshaft" Better it happen on Dyno and not strip or street. Out of curiosity who resized and balanced your drive shaft ? Assuming you had it done with tranny change.

It is the factory shaft I had behind my big block, probably just had enough. My tranny guy told me to go to catco

How many of you guys are running hoops to prevent further damage? I see a guy on TC makes custon hoops for chevelles. I was driving a friends old 1947 grain truck last fall with about 600 bu of corn and the same thing happend to me on the road. Driveshaft parts in many pieces in the ditch until I got it stopped.

I have one, and pretty much anyone going to the track has one. Mine's just a Summit brand one.
I broke a u-joint on my camaro back in the day-wanted to see how much wheel hop it had w/o the Lakewood slapper bars. I was surprised how much they worked.

I have a loop on mine it is a cheap jegs one that I had to modify for the GVOD. I placed it 1/3 of TD back from GVOD output. Not sure of Seagrams72 power levels but if you are making a ton of torque and HP IMPO not sure if Catco is the place to go. May also want to consider upgrading your joints also. Not sure what size you are running. Looks like it broke at the tranny yoke.

Tranny yoke is great, sheared part of the way through the shaft. We think the little tab broke on the driveshaft after the fact because the u-joint is fine. Yoke in the tranny is 100% A-OK, also the Carquest U-Joints look un harmed and useable (won't be thought!).
On the second run it got 380 tq and 373 hp @ 5200 at the tires and still had more tuning in to go. Shaft broke @ 5700-5800

I have a Denny's shaft and wouldn't go any other way. Inland Empire also makes some good units- I've run their stuff before too.
I need to put a loop in. It's on the list...

I will be calling Denny's myself soon for my shaft. It looks like they may be about $50-60 cheaper then Inland Empire for a similar shaft? Any advantage of Aluminum over steel for a street car? It looks like about $100 difference.

Catco or proven force should be able to build anything you want. Proven Force built the shaft in Steve's race car with the 1350 joints.

I had them shorten, replace both u-joints and balance a shaft for an LS1/4L60e conversion. They do nice work.
Stay tuned for the You Tube video, something went Boom.
That sucks...........under the hood or the floor ?
Looks like you were at Hi Tech, seems like lots of things go boom up there.
I have one of them new fangled 2 piece driveshafts.

Also split the tranny bellhousing, good thing my tranny guy is cool and will fix it for parts, no labor. I will post pics of that later.
Still plan on Car Crafting, maybe gun shy on the dyno there though.
