Looking for some feedback on engine compartment decals. Would you bother with adding the decals for 396/325 hp on the air cleaner, being I am not running stock intake, valve covers, air cleaner, etc? Does it add or make it not look right?
It will throw off the regular gawkers so yes do it.

Maybe I will get a few less questions of, what engine do you have in it? or does it have a 396 BBC in it?

I have a 350 hp sticker you can have. I should've bought the 360 hp for '66... People will give you crap for having the "little" engine with the 325 sticker.

It actually dyno'd at 369, so a 350 or 360 would be better.

350 would be correct for a '69 L35.
My cleaner lid appears to be an original with 375hp sticker. Hopefully the 454 will live up to that some day.

I agree on the 350hp, the only options in 69, 396 were 325/350 or 375.
I would think your 454 should live up to the 375hp rating, without too much trouble.

L, I would just put a copy of the dyno sheet under the hood. No questions, it is what is, looks good done professionally and documented.

Ive always liked the look of not having any stickers if the engine compartment is modified with goodies. And if its closer to the stock look, the stickers just add to the stock appearance. So if your into a sleeper look, go with the stickers.

I remember seeing a place that made custom ones that looked pretty good. I'll see if I can find it. You could get whatever you wanted on it.
I might even get one myself. It'd be cool to have a '383 cubic inch/545 horsepower' decal on the K&N lid..

I had fun with my 396 425hp sticker! I had people that would say I did not know you could get that motor or thats not correct motor etc. Was entertaining for the $6 or so the sticker cost. My motor was actaully a 350hp.

I had some custom ones made at Sign Pro here in Mankato. (any of them should be able to do it) I took in big block air cleaner decals and had them change the numbers to 327 insted of 427 and also changed the decal on the edge of the air cleaner to read "Turbo-Fire" in place of Turbo-Jet. At the time it only cost me about $25. It's another option for ya and you can get quite "creative"

We can trade...... PM me your address and I'll put mine in the mail. Probably be much quicker than getting to a club function together again.
