I talked to two vendors at MSRA this weekend about enquiring if they do shop tours. The first place was Teas design seats. They have been a staple for doing mail order and custom seats for street rods for years and then got into muscle cars in the late 90s. The only catch is they arent actually local. They are in Rochester. Which IMO, shouldnt stop us from getting a tour of thier shop. I guess they also have project cars they build. However, the person that is needed to contact wasnt in the booth when I stopped by. I have been wanting to check this place out for years.
The second shop I came across, I never even knew they existed. Its a chrome plating shop in Forest Lake called JR Custom Plating. I discussed with the guy about some work I wanted to have done. At the end of the conversation I mentioned I was in a Chevelle club and asked if they ever do tours. Turns out they do and have done tours for the local Chris Craft wooden boat club, the Northern Lights Car club and a few other clubs. He says they usually provide refreshments when they host. All they need is a month or 2 advance notice. Sometimes they are off at shows and what not.
Good ideas Chris. Let's keep track of these for this Fall/Winter as potential meeting sites.

Keep in mind, we also have an invitation for Metro Moulded Parts too. I talked to Mike again today. They're busy with shows all over (Goodguys, Indy, Car Craft, etc.) They are only able to do a weeknight tour, so maybe fall would be better.

Did a tour of JR's with the Camaro club a few years ago. I believe I've referred people to them for re-plating and polishing work on here a few times too. They do amazing work, but they get paid well for it too.
