I am going to replace the tires on my '69. I have original date coded wheels. The current tire size is P 205 70R 14. I don't want to go any larger in height, but I would like a little wider tire. Does anyone know what size this would be? I remember back in the day, a G60 would fit these wheels (showing my age here). Don't want to go that wide, since I want the same size all around.

235/60/14 would be about 1" wider and only 1/8" shorter sidewall, and they look good on a 14x7... speedometer would change by 0.5mph at 60.

I second that. Derek hit the nail right on the head.

You're not going to find any 235/60/14 tires. The largest 60 series 14" I can find is a 225 and there are only a couple brands of them Radial T/A's being the most popular. I don't like T/A's but many people have them on 60's cars because they still make many of the sizes for them. I have the same set of SS wheels for my 70 and have all but given up finding good performance tires in 14".

BFG have been known to be out of stock on a lot of sizes in the Radial T/A line.
I have a used set of those 235/60/14 BFGs... had them at the swap-meet at Karl's in January.
$100/set if anyone is interested.
3 of them are "like new", one has some wear from apparent 1-wheel burnouts... I got them on a set of wheels I picked up at Jefferson for someone else.
*EDIT* those may be 245s... will have to look at them again this weekend.

I have 235s on the front and 245s on the rear of a set of 14X7 inch cragars and they fit and cleared just fine.
Where have you been Mr. W? We need progress reports on the Chevy!
I miss seeing that El Camino.
