I was just finishing up a Muncie build for another club member when I realized I didn't have a speedo gear. So, I dug out on old one that needed a rebuild to swipe the gear. When I picked it up, there was some "rattling" inside. When I opened it up, this thing fell out (see pic).
So can anyone identify it?

Is that the missed second gear?

It looks like a chunk of dirty ice...

Its blurry so its hard to tell. Shift fork? Part of the bearing plate that sandwiches between the main case and the tailshaft?

This really had me confused when it first came out. Then I wiped it off and realized what it was.
