Met a guy and son who came in to work today, dad's the original owner of a 78 (if I heard right) Malibu 6 cyl 3 speed m/t on the floor. 28,xxx miles. He says it's really nice. I gave him a card for the club and some info on what he was looking for. Nice guy, maybe he'll stop by on here and say hi.

I've seen some cool things done with that generation of Malibu's. It would be cool to get more in the club.

Not many of them built with 3 pedals.

I really like those cars too. I used to have a '79 Malibu. Rare car with bucket seats & console. It had the gas crunch friendly 267 V-8 and 2.56 rear end gears.

A '79 Landau was the 1st chassis the 383 tore up! It also had the anemic 267.

I had the same chassis with my 83 Grand Prix and Caddy 472 snuck under the hood.

I still have my 1980 Malibu. First car I ever bought. I had big plans to do a pro street to it but when you can find a nice one for cheap. The one I have just isnt worth the effort. Too rusty and rough. I have spent years collecting parts for it including a complete bucket seat interor from the headliner down to the spot welded bucket seat brackets and everything in between. Seats, console, full guaged dash, I have everything for the next project. Including 2 extra pairs of really nice doors as well. A very common rusted item for G bodies. They have always been cool cars.

I bought a bunch of G body Malibu parts from Derek and he had an NOS 1980 grill still in the box along with stack of other various Malibu plastic grills and an original late 70s take off hood and fender from a car that was in a flood back in 78 or 79 and they looked at good as you could get from being NOS. They had to have been in safe storage until then. I still have all those parts as well. They have always been pretty cool cars.
