I should have stayed in bed:

Go out to work truck, discover
1 - battery is dead
2 - Soda can I left in it froze, and EXPLODED all over the passenger seat.
3 - When the battery is dead and you try and start it, the electrics go bonkers! The headlights go on & off, and best of all, the "Panic" function engages and blows the horn a half dozen times. (My neighbors must love me... it's 6am.)

Scrape off the daughter's car, dig out cables, jump the truck. Remember two more things:
1 - it's on fumes. Didn't fill up Friday afternoon.
2 - didn't fill out timecard for last week.

Pull up in the driveway, leave it running to charge and go in the house to fill out timecard. Try and fax timecard... won't hook up/dial out. Try and print timecard to manually fax in... paper's jammed.
Unjam printer, try and fax and print again... Now the PC's locked up. Give it the 3-finger salute.

PC's now hosed. Won't boot up. Bios won't even display. Screw it.

Drive to shop, manually fill out timecard and pick up parts for jobs today. Discover the entire work network is down (something in Atlanta blew up) - this means I can't get emails or dispatches. Not a big deal as my work phone has been hosed since the 4th, and our "IT support" hasn't been able to help me.

Do job #1, everything went ok. Go to lunch. McDonalds fubars my order - wrong sandwich and regular instead of diet soda. (why should I have expected otherwise?)

Do job #2, again this goes OK. Decide to cut my losses and go home.

Now I get to figure out why the personal 'puter is wonky, make dinner, and hope for UPS to deliver car parts.

So you have a typical Monday! Battery holding the charge?

  When things start going like that I wonder if I should buy a lottery ticket. We have all had those days, when we look back at them we realize it's what makes life interesting.

Makes you gun-shy about giong to the bathroom too I bet. Sometimes I have one of those days. I much prefer to watch others have them, I usually try to help without getting caught up in thier chaos.

At least none of that involved Blackie!  I thought there was going to be something bad about that too...

I may not be the brightest bulb on the chandelier but on days that start out lower than whale poop, I've learned to not even TOUCH anything important, cause it's only gonna get ugly.

 

I probably was due... at least the jobs were relatively simple, and couldn't hopelessly be screwed up.

Today's a polar opposite .

Got my work phone straightened out with I.T., and doing my normal Tuesday stuff at my "imbedded" account on Tuesday.

  I just drove from Lexington Ave east bound to highway 13 on Cliff road in the snow, roads where in terrible condition.  But get this I made every light all ten of them, didn't have to stop once. 

  Going out to buy a loto ticket.

Saw a guy tonight on the way home from "Mystake Lake" just STUFF his 'yoda into the wall crossing the Ferry Bridge! The guy didn't lose it (spin across the lanes) but got it straightened out (leaving most of the LF behind) and just kept driving north to 494!

All of the overpasses on 169 north from Shakopee to SLP were glare ice tonight.

I worked with a guy 25 years ago who had a sign over his desk that said "Mondays a hell of a way to spend 1/7th of your life" It seems things happen in streaks like that. My Suburban died in a snow storm on a busy street, towed it home no spark tried about everthing think it's the ECM not good. Then the pump in our well dies had to get a new one installed 280 feet down the casing just wonderful, get that fixed and the septic pump loses power. Rewire that in the snow at 5 AM. Someone breaks into my brothers house to strip the copper out. I spent some time helping replace locks on doors and fixing what they decided they needed worse than he did. Went out to my fish house heater quit working. I think I have had enough Mondays for a while. I can feel your pain John. I hope your new engine does you well I read your post on that must say I'm impressed. What a retro fit project you have there. It should look and run great when you get it on the road.
