So the engine is ready to dyno and I ran into a snag. Seems the the software is 95/98 compatible will not run on a newer PC. Anyone have an old lap top that could be used for dyno tune of an EFI system?

Does it require a Serial port or can you use a USB?

Can make either work with, but prefer serial for easy connection to ECU.

How good does the battery have to be? I may have something sitting at work we could lose..

Can plug it in for most if not all the tune. A desktop is just a little to big to bring into a dyno cell once it is setup. As it stands there will be few guys in the cell just to watch this and monitor this fiasco.

Can you run the software in a compatibility mode for XP?

I have an old laptop that you can use that has xp.
Need a plug in keyboard as the keyboard on the laptop has some keys that don't work.

Trouble what is that? oh wait that is my life!
Did talk to Doug F. from Holley and he will get a map best suited for this combo for a base line.
Now if I don't hit anymore deer and all those other little gremlins stay clear for a few weeks I may get this on the dyno before the end of the month. Tony is not allowed anywhere near a dyno after his curse of the Rover engine.
