I blew a tire on my way home from the race track last night with my camper in tow. It happened so fast that I got pulledĀ in the ditch at 70mph. The attached picture sort of tells the story. The car and camper sustained some damage but I was able to drive home after a nice young couple stopped to help. Me and my stuff got hurt a bit but I am grateful nobody else got hurt and for teh help of others. Thsi also reminds me to ALWAYS stop to ask if someone needs help.

Looks like a ride through grass, lots of grass. In fact all I see is grass.

Glad you are ok, sure hope the state doesn't charge you for messing with their nice weeds.

Thanks for the notes guys. I am currently figuring a value as it needs 2 new quarters and a rocker panel so it will probably be totaled. I have looked at nada.com which comes in at $3050 but kbb.com does not give values after 10 years. I also printed some pages from Team Chevelle want ads and will do Craigslist next I suppose.

Glad you're ok. The last time a member took a "scenic detour" he wound up seeing snow/sky/snow/sky/snow really fast!
You lose a front or rear??

Driver's rear which quickly threw me in to a hard right turn in to the ditch. I must have over-compensated as I was sliding somewhat sideways nose to the road when I hit the mud but I think the camper whip-lashed up the hill which may have helped me straighten out the car and drive towards the road. I am grateful I was in the right lane at that time as I would have taken out whoever would have been on my right if I was in the left lane.

Thanks Ron. I haven't received the final word from the insurance company yet but I am looking for another Chevelle right now, maybe a 4-door. I am getting my '70 put up on the hoist Saturday to verify how bad the rust is under that one.
