Looking for some referalls on best place to get rebuild kits for 12 bolt differential. I have a Series 2 posi, I am pulling and looking to go to Series 3 Eaton with 3.73 gears. Team Chevelle mentions several posts for Tom's Differentials in Idaho. I there is someone local, I would rather stay local.
Thanks,
Loren

Here's some local places:
AA Driveline
(763) 503-0162
801 North St, Anoka, MN 55303
Hooze 4x4
(763) 634-0065
1435 147th Ave NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304
I got mine through Tom Lowe at www.12bolt.com He's also on TC, but doesn't promote his business like Big Gear Head or others, but he was very helpful to me and I got everything I needed. I ordered a 12 bolt rebuild kit, new axles, and gears. All are Yukon brand and went together well. The kit even came with the better gear marking compound. Here's his contact info:
Autowerks
3063 200th st
Dysart, Iowa 52224
Phone 319 476 2172

Dont forget about our club member Charley Mueller. He works at Catco and set us up with an excellent discount. They do all sorts of driveline type stuff and im sure he can get you a rebuild kit as well.

I know Tom pretty well... I run into him at swap-meets all the time. He's a good guy and really knows his stuff. :)

Do I have any rebuild experts, I can lean on if I should try to rebuild myself, or would the recommendation be to have Tom Lowe rebuild for me? I have no previous experience with switching gears/posi, etc with differentials.

I talked with Tom last night and his prices seem very good. Just trying to decide if I should tackle it myself or leave it to the experts?

I had help with mine. My biggest issue is that I would rather do it once and know it's good vs wrestling with it for hours (days) and still have an issue. It's not rocket science, but knowing what you're doing is a big plus. Jim L did his own I believe, had a couple struggles, but it sounds like his came out fine.
Thanks,
Loren
