Picture this: You have a 2007 Nissan Maxima, nice car. It goes into the water doorhandle deep. you then keep the engine running while stuck.
Here comes the fun part:
#1-engine hydrolocked. That means it injested enough water to not let the pistons move up or down anymore. Before it did that, the tranny locked up from water. Most likely, the BCM, ECM, TCM, and IPDM all are shot (body control module, engine control module, transmission control module, and Instrument panel display module). We figured possibly new front end harness, engine harness, and body wiring harnesses since there is alredy signs of corrosion at some connectors.
Total parts only: just over $15,000. Owner owes @ $15,000 as it is.
oh yeah, he had no insurance on the car.
sounds like the commercial:
2007 Maxima $15,000
stuck in water bill: $at least $15000, plus labor
look on the guy's face when the estimate was handed to him: priceless

probably had to pay mom and dad back. Out here in Wayzata, paying cash for a car isn't too odd. I know of several customers who have bought thier kids Altimas so they have something safe to take to college or drive thier grandkids around in.

Wow that sucks for him. But at least he's off the road. No insurance just think if he hit someone
