To many rpms one time on the way home last night. Just had to run it up to the max. Then noticed the temp and ammeter guage goinging crazy. Stoped along side the little traveled hwy. PS belt gone and fan/alternator belt just hanging there. Fortunately it was in good enought shape to put back on to get home. Car got a good washing on the way. Not sure which belt came off first. Car is a little hard to steer with no PS. Spare fan belt in the trunk now and a PS belt to be added shortley.

I've had that happen on mine too. This year will bring a serpentine swap for me, and that was a little of my excuse.

Yup, the first time I did that I threw a spare in the trunk.

Just the regular pulleys that came with the car in 65.

Was this due to having the PS belt or the fan/alternator belt set two loose?

Sometimes it's from too loose, sometimes it's from not being completely aligned straight.
Just the regular pulleys that came with the car in 65.
