Good service for a part I needed-TSI in Brooklyn Park

I have said it before on here, but sometimes it's hard to find a place that will take care of us older car people. I found another good one today.
I needed a small seal that's inside the speedo gear to cable housing on the tailshaft on my 700R4 tranny. Being a partsman, I did the Napa/CarQuest/GM dance. Nada. I found them on the net for dirt cheap, but figured it would cost more to ship than it was worth. Looking through my business card reference file (rubber banded together) I remembered TSI (transmission shop inc) in Brooklyn Park. They have car shows, so I know they're gonna be more likely to not stare at me for wasting thier time.
I got there right at 7:30 when they opened, explained to the guy (Chris I believe) what I needed. He told me to hang out, and went back into the shop. A couple minutes later, he comes back and shows me a seal and says they have a slightly different one, but it should work. He hands me the gear sleeve piece and says I'm all set. I still see the seal he had in his hand, and ask how much. Chris says he's already installed it, which I then saw. He asks what kind of car I have and also says I need to check the speedo gear to make sure it's not "apple cored" aka worn out at the seal area. He says "take care" and nods me towards the door. Freebie part on top of all that.
I never mentioned the club or anything about posting this to them. They deserve a mention just for how it was handled.
Was leaking from between brass pieces. It's a swivel, so there's no seal, it's inside the black part.
New seal installed

Chris is a good friend of mine. And a former service manager when we worked together back in the day. I,m glad to see he has not lost that kind spirited nature. They have a good group of guys over at TSI I would recommend them any time.

Feel free to mention this to him. I was going to email them a link to this thread, but there's no email or "contact us" button.

My trans was done at the TSI shope in New Hope if I remember correctly. Very good to deal with there also and into classic cars there also.

Drove it a little on Sat, enough to see if it would leak-nope. All fixed.
