68 12-bolt 4.10 posi - just pulled it out of my car... Useable as-is, but the gears are noisy. I replaced the axle bearings and seals, and pinion seal when I put it in my car 3 years ago (around 15,000miles). Posi works good (1.84 60' times on 17" street tires!) Housing was in tough shape when I got it. Axle tubes are pitted a little bit. The lower brackets were all busted up from air-shocks, so I welded on good brackets that I cut off a 10-bolt. No brakes. SOLD
69 12-bolt bare housing w/caps... really nice housing coded for 3.73 posi (very desireable codes - can check dates if interested) $450
68-72 (I forget which) 12-bolt bare housing NO CAPS. SOLD

Derek,
I might be interested in the 69 bare housing with caps (coded for 3.73's)? Is this a shell? , no axle's, gears, does it have backing plates?

I do have axles, but When I put the 68 housing in my car a few years ago, I used the best 2 axles from the 2 housings... so the axles that come with it do show quite a bit of wear at the axle bearings. I think the backing plates are on it, but I'd have to look again... 10-bolts used the same brakes, so they're easy enough to find.
The original gears and carrier were pulled many years ago, and put into a '67 chevelle stock-car.

If the rear end needs axles. Club member Charlie Mueller whom set us up with a very nice discount at Catco can get them.

The backing plates are on it, but they're a little bent up from being slid around on the shop floor. Casting date is B 4 9 (Feb 4th 1969)

Derek,
I am interested, just in a major push to get the car on the road right now. It's in the shop getting painted as I write this, and as soon as it comes out I will be focused on: fixing transmission leak, exhaust leak and install "H"pipe, installing glass, finishing trim, getting new top installed..... . It would probably be May before I could pick it up? If you have another serious buyer, go ahead, otherwise in May I could take it off your hands.

Derek,
Sorry I didn't see this before now. I did find a 12 bolt from a friend of mine and have started to rebuild that. What I am trying to decide now if I should go with 3.55 gears or 3.73 gears, keeping in mind that I plan to put in a 200R4 at the same time that I swap the rear end?
Sorry to keep you hanging, I should have let you know sooner.
Just been frustrated with how long it is taking to get the car painted and my summer is slipping away.

No problem Loren, I have since sold the other 2 (at Back-to-the-50s swap) and decided to keep the '69 housing for now... might still let it go if someone comes along and offers enough, but not actively trying to sell it anymore.
