I don't think the rubber mat was ever intended to go over a hump, maybe on a '67, but the boot mount for '66 was flat and followed the floor contour.
Most anything you come up with will have to go over the mat.

Progress continues, a bit of google picture searching and I came up with a shifter boot I thought would work. Fabricated a shifter trim ring, screwed it down and it worked out great I think. Looks almost factory and fit the floor nicely. Interior is all back in but still waiting on my painter to get my steering column parts paint matched.
Looks really good Chris! Nice new avatar too. Hopefully we get to see some of that action this summer!

I second the cool avatar...
Steve, the avatar drew my attention that he is listed as the president. Any chance you can get that switched to the new pres ?? Not that Chris didn't do a great job, but Hankster might feel left out...

Floor shift column is in, alignment done this morning. Ready to put some miles on and see how everything works.

Yeah I don’t think I’m ready for that long of a trip with it yet.
